How splits are calculated
Every helper tap is a timestamp on the one official clock. XC Splits pairs each athlete’s taps with your checkpoint distances to produce splits, pace per mile, and the gaps between runners — the same numbers a full timing crew would give you.
Reading the race view
The race view shows the field in real time: who has cleared each checkpoint, current order, and how tight the pack is. After the race it becomes a clean, shareable results sheet.
- Live order updates as taps come in from every checkpoint.
- Per-athlete splits show pacing across the whole course.
- Team scoring rolls up automatically from finish places.
Personal records
When an athlete beats their best for a distance, XC Splits flags the PR on the spot. Records follow the runner across the whole season, so progress is always one tap away.
Course-aware bests
PRs are tracked per distance, so a fast 5K stands on its own even when your schedule mixes course lengths.
Exporting results
Send results to athletes and families the moment the race ends, or export a full sheet for your records. Everything you timed stays in your program history for the season.
