Create your program
A program is your team’s home in XC Splits. It holds every roster, meet, and result under one banner. The head coach creates it once and owns the account; assistants join later with their own logins.
- 1Sign up with your school email and confirm the address.
- 2Name your program — usually your school and level, like “Riverside Boys XC”.
- 3Pick your season so results are grouped the way you already think about them.
Add your first roster
You only need athlete names and grade levels to start timing. Everything else — PRs, season bests, splits — fills in automatically as you run meets.
Coming from a spreadsheet?
Paste a column of names straight in. XC Splits creates one athlete per line, so an existing team list becomes a roster in seconds.
Run a practice test
Before your first real meet, run a short time trial to see the whole flow. Start the clock, tap a few athletes at the “finish”, and watch the results build. It is the fastest way to get your helpers comfortable.
- Start the official clock from your phone.
- Have one helper tap athletes as they cross a line.
- Open the race view and confirm the splits look right.
